NOTES
This organ was originally built for Tennessee Valley Unitarian Church
in Knoxville, Tennessee. As installed there, the Principal (8-4-2) and
III Mixture were non-expressive and exposed at the front, as was 16'
extension of the Gedackt which was to the right along the right wall.
The Gedackt, Gemshorn, and Fagot were under expression in an elevated
front choir gallery chamber. The console was also in the front gallery.
The skirt woodwork was painted a drab green as were the 16' Brummbass
pipes.

Tennessee Valley Unitarian Church moved to a new facility in 1998 and
sold the organ to Gatlinburg Presbyterian for $15,000.00.

The Schantz was relocated to and installed in Gatlinburg Presbyterian
Church in 1998 by William Dunklin of Knoxville, Tennessee. No tonal or
mechanical changes were made to the organ. The only changes were cos-
metic – with the 16' Brummbass pipes now painted white and located to
the left of the exposed Principal chorus and III Mixture. The original
drab green wooden skirting for the organ was finished in a bright red
matching the chancel furniture. The console is in fixed position on
the right side, and was also painted white.
