2013-12-20 - Altered and relocated existing organ. Identified by Rodney J. Weed, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- St. Joseph's Congregation was founded in 1909 by Slovakian immigrants. A small brick church was built. This organ was first installed in that little brick church. In 1964 a new church in Georgian style architecture was built on the same sight as the original small brick church. The 1956 Wicks organ opus 3701 was enlarged by Wicks adding exposed ranks on the great and a Trumpet en Chamade mounted on the back wall of the gallery over the choir and console. These changes were made in 1964 and installed in the new church completed that same year. <br>In summer of 2000, Due to priest shortages St. Joseph's Church a Slovakian community church was consolidated with Holy Family Church a Polish community church and St. Frederick's a church of Irish origins. These were the other two Catholic Churches in Cudahy. The new combined parish was renamed Nativity of the Lord and the original St. Frederick's Church, school and rectory were chosen to be the new parish site. The Holy Family site was kept for the grade school with the old Holy Family Church retained to be used by the school.<br>In May of 2003 the St. Joseph church buildings were sold to the Changing Lives Assembly of God Congregation. As of this date 12/15/13 it is assumed the Wicks opus 3701 was sold with the building. I have contacted Changing Lives Assembly of God Church to verify this but have not heard back from them.. -Database Manager
