2012-11-02 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by Jim Lewis, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- This instrument was originally installed in a building on the Searles estate that is separate from the main house. It may have also contained Searles' antique musical instrument collection. The organ was removed in the early 1940s and installed in the Forest St. Church, Methuen, by Ernest Skinner. -Database Manager

NOTES
This organ was originally built for an unknown location within the estate is unknown. It
is believed to have been an out building.

In 1944, it was relocated without tonal or mechanical changes to Forest Street Union
Church in Methuen by Ernest M. Skinner and Son who had taken-up the former Methuen Organ
Co. factory along the Spigot River adjacent to Serlo Hall.

Tonal changes to the Great were made by the Andover Organ Co. in 1965.
