2017-07-21 - Updated by J. A. Hefner, listing this website as a source of information: http://www.fostoria.org/index.php/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2208. <br> <br>A Fostoria historical website mentions that the organ and sanctuary were complete in 1893, showing an 1892 photo of the interior [in a newspaper reprint - the reprint isn't dated, but it states the organ and chancel are the only things that had changed since the photo was taken].<br><br>The article states that the 100th anniversary of the church, 1956, was when they decided to install a new organ and chancel. -Database Manager

2023-06-20 - Church history at https://www.fostoriapresbyterian.org/history states the current brick building was constructed in 1889-1891, to replace the late 1850s structure. "The stained glass in the new building, with the exception of the King’s Daughters’ window overlooking the west balcony, cost $1,200. The large Anchor Cross window and matching Cross and Crown window were unique even in that day. The organ in the new building was a 29 rank instrument built by the Farrand-Votey Organ Company." That would explain the impressive appearance! This organ was replaced in 1956 when renovations occurred to mark the church's 100th anniversary; the 1889 brick building was expanded and is still used today. -J. A. Hefner

2023-06-20 - Church history states the brick building as having been constructed 1889-1891; Farrand-Votey built the 1891 organ - fostoriapresbyterian.org/history -J. A. Hefner
