2013-05-23 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by John Speller, using information found in Information from Pictorial and Biographical Memoirs of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana (1893) p. 286, where there is a partial list of Louis Van H. Dinter-s organs. -- The above source notes that Louis H. Van Dinter built organs in Detroit, Michigan, between 1870 and 1877, before moving to Mishawaka, Indiana. The church was built in 1867, which fits with the approximate date of the organ. -Database Manager

2018-03-09 - Updated by William M. Worden, listing this website as a source of information: http://www.aod.org/parishes/sacramental-records/closed-parishes/. In addition William M. Worden gave this as a source of information: Personal knowledge of development history of Detroit.<br> Our Lady of Help was closed in 1968 and the parish buildings demolished as part of an urban renewal clearance project that completely cleared all buildings in a multi-block area. Whether the Van Dinter organ survived until the demolition I do not know. -Database Manager
