Notes

2013-05-23 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by John Speller, using information found in Information from Pictorial and Biographical Memoirs of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana (1893) p. 286, where there is a partial list of Louis Van H. Dinter-s organs.. -- The above source notes that Louis H. Van Dinter built organs in Detroit, Michigan, between 1870 and 1877, before moving to Mishawaka, Indiana, and this organ may correspond with this period. The present church was built in 1881, so this instrument may have been in the previous church and/or the present one. -Database Manager
