2013-05-23 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by John Speller, using information found in Information from Pictorial and Biographical Memoirs of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana (1893) p. 286, where there is a partial list of Louis Van H. Dinter-s organs.. -- The above source notes that Louis H. Van Dinter built organs in Detroit, Michigan, between 1870 and 1877, before moving to Mishawaka, Indiana. The church was built in 1869, which fits with the approximate date of the organ. -Database Manager
