2013-05-26 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by John Speller, using information found in Journal of the Annual Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Michigan, 1846, p. 68. -- The Journal notes that the organ cost $850, of which $250 had been paid and the rest was payable at the end of the year. It also notes that the "organ ... daily developes [sic.] more and more of its thrilling power," suggesting perhaps that it was still under construction. -Database Manager
