Notes

2013-06-17 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by John Speller, using information found in an un-named publication. -- -Database Manager

2017-09-15 - Updated by William M. Worden, who has heard or played the organ.

I think the database has this organ in the wrong building. The Brewster building on Linwood that is now the Shrine of the Black Madonna was built in 1925, making a 1909 organ an original installation an impossibility. Brewster Congregational was previously in a church built in 1906 at 1419 West Warren, Detroit, which later became St. Dominic's RC and is now Citadel of Faith Covenant Church. That building does, indeed, have a two-manual Felgemaker in the gallery, or did. It is probably thirty-five years or more since I saw it and played it; it was pretty much unplayable then. I'm fairly certain it's tubular pneumatic. -Database Manager
