-- This is a newly-built Cathedral. The former Cathedral was razed in mid 2011 due to structural damage incurred during a September 2009 earthquake. The Wicks pipe organ was donated to the Cathedral through the Wicks Organ Co. According to the website for First Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, Missouri, "In August, 2012 volunteers from the church removed the grill work at the entrance to the organ chambers in the chancel in preparation for the removal of our current Wick's Pipe Organ. The Wick's Organ Company of Highland, IL removed the current instrument and are preparing it for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Apia, Samoa. The church is donating the pipe organ to Wick's, who in turn will donate it to the cathedral in Samoa. On August 27, [2012] the Wick's company, along with many volunteers from the church, carried the (over) 2,700 pipes out of the sanctuary." -Database Manager
