2013-11-11 - Altered and relocated existing organ. Identified by Bruce Johnson, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- The opus number of this instrument is written on the instrument, and original contract documents were found by Tom Farrell, formerly of Aeolian Skinner. I acquired the instrument from First Congregational Church of West Chicago in 1982. It was their second installation of the instrument.
I re-leathered the instrument with guidance from Century Pipe Organ of Aurora IL. It was installed in my Naperville, Illinois home in 1986 with the assistance of Gruber Pipe Organs. In 1990, the console was replaced by a three-manual electronic organ console. The interface to the wind chests was designed by Lawrence Phelps formerly of Aeolian-Skinner.
In 2002, the instrument was relocated to my residence in San Antonio where it is regularly used for concerts and benefits for the professional performing arts organizations of San Antonio. Installation assistance was provided by Ballard Pipe Organs; it is now maintained by Bobsin Organs. -Database Manager
