2013-11-23 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by T. Daniel Hancock, using information found in an un-named publication. -- This small, two-manual Wicks was purchased new after the relocated theater organ proved to be both unsatisfactory and unreliable. It was a unit organ, with one main chest for both manual divisions, located behind the choir in an expression chamber on the central axis of the church. It was relocated, after a fashion, to the new church building at 1551 East Portland Street, Springfield, in October 1963. -Database Manager
