Notes

2014-02-24 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in David Junchen The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, an Illustrated History, p.662. -- Wurlitzer opus 1365 was a Style 108 - 2 manuals, 3 ranks (Flute, String, Vox Humana), 4 tuned percussions, (piano, chimes, glockenspiel, xylophone) and 3 traps (bass drum, snare drum, cymbal). The style 108 used a "piano console" in which the lower manual had 88 keys, the upper manual had 61 keys and the pedal was the usual 32 keys. The stop tabs were in a straight row above the upper manual, rather than in Wurlitzer's more famous horse-shoe design.
Though the building still stands, opus 1365 is no longer here. Its fate is unknown. -Database Manager
