2015-02-16 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, based on information learned from a conversation with Jerry Keys - college alumnus. -- Had a delightful phone conversation with Jerry Keys on Monday, February 9, 2014 about the organs at Georgetown College. The John L. Hill Chapel was built in 1952. In later years, the Kilgen was removed and was reinstalled in a residence in Ohio. Kentucky organ technician Charles Ward was going to take the 1923 Henry Pilcher's Sons (Opus 1191) from First Baptist in Harrodsburg, Kentucky and rebuild it for Hill Chapel to replace the Kilgen. And though the Pilcher was removed from the Harrodsburg church, the instrument for Hill Chapel never came to fruition. -Database Manager
