2015-04-23 - An original installation. Identified by James R. Barry, based on personal knowledge of the organ. -- After serving as the principal organ at the Hartt School for 45 years, the instrument was removed and stored during the summer of 2015 to make room for an expanded recital hall. The organ was dedicated in four concerts between September 13 and October 25, 1970. The first concert was performed by Hartt organ faculty: Edward Clark, Elizabeth Sollenberger and John Holtz (chair of the department). The remaining dedication concerts featured Marie-Claire Alain, Albert Russell, and Robert Noehren. The organ was featured for many years in the annual Contemporary Organ Festival organized by John Holtz. -Database Manager
