Notes

2016-04-14 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, using information from this web site: http://thebasilica.ca/basilica-tour.

According to 'The Organ' section of the Basilica Tour page of their website, "The Grand Organ which was originally installed in the Basilica was, by all accounts, a truly magnificant instrument. It was constructed by Messrs. Robsons of London, England, and was the gift of Bishop Mullock. Its debut on October 9, 1853, saw Thomas Mullock (the Bishop's brother) as the organist. Due to deterioration over the years, the Grand Organ had to be dismantled in 1938 and was replaced by a Hammond electronic organ." -Database Manager
