2016-09-19 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by William Dunklin, using information found in a vintage postcard. <br>A postcard mailed in 1906 shows the organ standing in a recess to the left of the altar. A polychromed, 3-flat facade faces the congregation. No openings face the chancel. Now known as the First United Church of Christ, the church indicates on their website that their fourth building was remodeled in 1879. The organ case shown in the 1906 postcard, stylistically appears to date from that period. The congregation moved to their fifth building just after World War I and purchased an Austin. Fate of this organ is unknown. -Database Manager
