2017-05-05 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. <br>Identified by James R. Stettner, listing this web site as a source of information: http://www.chvago.org/Organs/Old_Dutch_Kgn_History.htm.<br>The church's website containing the history of organs in the church states, "The Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Kingston, New York, was established in 1659. The first church of 1661 had no organ. <snip> Hymn singing was led by the voorsanger. In a photograph of the 1832 Church at Main and Wall Street (presently St. Joseph's Church) there is a pipe organ. The church music was directed by the chorister who also played the organ." -Database Manager
