Worden, naming this as the source of information: Detroit Free Press, June 25, 1911. <br> <br>The Free Press reported that a donation of $10,000 had been made for the purchase of an organ and that C. W. Henrich, organist of First Presbyterian Church had. after much research, recommended the builder, who was located in Marietta, Ohio. Everything except a portion of the Great was said to be under expression. There was an echo in the lantern tower. -Database Manager

Worden, citing information from this publication: *Detroit Free Press*, June 25, 1911, *Detroit Times*, June 10, 1911. Internal inspection of the later Tellers organ in the church by William M. Worden and James J. Hammann suggested that the Tellers might have been an extensive rebuilding of this instrument or that pipework from this instrument might have been used in the Tellers. -Database Manager

2025-03-29 - From The Diapason, June 1911, p1: See DOCUMENTS tab for full article from July 1911 FINISH $15,000 4-MANUAL Stevens Company Sending New Organ to Detroit Church. From the factory of the Stevens Organ Company of Marietta, O., has come a $15,000 organ of four manuals for the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian church of Detroit, Mich. The first shipment of the organ parts was made two weeks ago. July 11 has been set as the day of dedication. The work of building this large instrument was under the supervision of A. G. Sparling, superintendent of the Stevens plant since it began building organs. He also drew up the specifications. Mr. Sparling’s experience as a pipe organ builder is well known. A complete description of this organ will appear in the July issue of The DIAPASON. -Paul R. Marchesano
