2023-12-26 - From *The St. Catharines Standard* (April 2, 1928): "The organ, built at a cost of $6,700, is the largest church organ in Port Colborne. It has two manuals, and is equipped with the most approved type of action, electro-pneumatic--a detached console, a concave and radiating pedalboard, an electric generator (which supplies the current for the organ action), and an electric motor and blower of two horsepower. Stop keys are used in lace of the customary draw stops and these enable the organist to secure maximum control with a minimum of effort. The console itself, detached type, is a very fine piece of workmanship. It is of circular design, made of quartered oak, with mahogany trimmings and fitted with roll top, couplers, adjustable combination pistons, reversible pistons, indicators and balanced expression pedals. The woodwork in the case, or front, is of quartered oak, richly finished, and the front pipes are attractively decorated in plain gold bronze. The organ has a total number of 1,008 pipes. The individual stops, which include diapasons, strings, flute and reeds, reveal careful voicing and characteristic tone color. These improvements all tend to give the organ a rich and full tone." -Andrew Henderson
