2023-03-20 - From *The Buffalo Commercial* (October 28, 1874): "Mr. G. House, the well-known organ-builder, has recently finished a fine new instrument for the Second Congregational Church of Detroit ... Yesterday afternoon a number of ladies and gentlemen visited the factory on Clinton Street, for the purposes of examining the organ, which was tested by Mr. Henderson, organist of Christ Church, Mr. Holt of the Cedar Street Church, and others. All agreed in pronouncing the instrument an excellent one. It is very handsome, the case being built in Norman style, richly trimmed with black walnut. The cost will be about $4,000. The organ will be shipped to Detroit this week. -Andrew Henderson
