Notes

2020-09-01 - The 1930 Chapel itself was decommissioned in 2007, and stands as an abandoned testimonial to the Ivie Family's generosity to the town of Bethlehem, NH. It is a remarkable building, where only its walls, impeccable interior (minus all furnishings) and stained glass remain, in remarkable shape. Its alabaster pendulums still in place and the stained glass hint at the remarkable detail and stewardship of the Ivie family, having built the Chapel as a Memorial to their daughter who died at age 27./ - Limestone accents on the exterior of the building are crumbling, but the structure itself is otherwise solid. Right on Route 302. A magnificent structure in the English Perpendicular style. The bells were also removed in 2007, along with the organ. -Joseph R. Olefirowicz

Stoplist

$13,460 contract. Paid by the Ivie Family, who sponsored the entire chapel, stained glass, furnishings, pipe organ and 10-bell Tower Chime. Source: Peter Rudewicz (original scans of Aeolian Co. documents) 1930
