2021-10-19 - This was the addition of an expressive Swell division to the existing 2-manual Casavant. It was installed in a chamber in the left, front corner of the santuary with painted facade pipes. A similar facade of painted pipes for symmetry was added in front on the right. The original Casavant was unaltered, and the Casavant Swell was renamed Choir. -Jim Stettner
2021-10-20 - The project was supported and started by organist of the church and founder of Hollander Hospitality Mike (Mario) G. Hollander. The scope of work consisted of renovating a Schantz console (Op. 1823, 1987) obtained by Mr. Hollander from Bethany Lutheran Church of Englewood, CO., updating the electrical system of the existing instrument, and installing a new Swell division in a new chamber to the left of the existing Casavant. The Casavant chassis in the center chamber was retained as-is with no tonal changes or modifications, save the new electrical system and redefining the very modest Casavant Swell to become the new Choir division. The Schantz in Englewood received a new Rodgers console several years ago. The majority of the pipework and chest of the new Swell was sourced from the former transept organ built by Don Gorman for Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in Spokane (1973), the Gorman instrument being removed and dissasembled for restoration of the cathedral and in anticipation of a new instrument there. Additional sources of pipework include a Hautbois from the former Balcom & Vaughan instrument installed at Bethel Lutheran of Shoreline, WA (now a Buddist monastary), and the first octave of a 16' Bourdon from the former Balcom & Vaughan organ installed in St. Mary Magdalene, Everett. Additional facade pipes on either side of the original Hinners (still speaking) Facade were painted and installed by members of the church and workers of Mr. Hollander from pipes he had in his possession and consist of a Diapason and a String. -Sean Haley
