2022-03-14 - Originally built for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Youngstown, Ohio. The church closed in 1997, and the organ was sold to St. Lucy's, moved and enlarged by Peebles-Herzog who added an 8' Principal to the Great and replaced the Swell Schalmei unit with a Hautbois- both ranks supplied by A.R. Schopp's. In Campbell, the Great and Swell are contained in one Swell box, and only the new 8' Principal is unenclosed. It is not known at present, whether this was the arrangement as built in Youngstown, or if this was a modification made in the move to Campbell. It would be highly atypical for Schlicker to have enclosed the entire organ originally. The organ has e-p pitman chests. The present "case"-enclosure was made by the parishioners of St. Lucy's, and is not as the organ appeared in Youngstown, as originally built. For the second time in 5 years, the Diocese announced the closure of St. Lucy's in November 2021. Unlike the first closure attempt in 2017, this time the parishioner fight to keep the church open was unsuccessful, and the church has been deconsecrated. -Scot Huntington
