Notes

2022-05-11 - "...the Roche Organ Co. learned of the availability of a large two-manual organ in the basement chapel of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Lowell, MA. It was believed to have been built c. 1870 by Samuel Hamill from older parts. At an unknown date it was rebuilt with a detached, reversed console by Cole & Woodberry, whose labels were pasted on the insides of the case panels. At some point it was electrified by W W Laws, of Beverly, MA, retaining its pipes and windchests." "In March of 1976, the organ was purchased by the [Congregational] church [of Fairhaven] and removed to storage. In June of that year, a contract was signed with Roche to rebuild and retrackerize it." -Paul R. Marchesano
