Notes

2023-01-19 - A congregation affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America gathered in the 1950s and in 1964 bought land on East Main and built a "basic" sanctuary and multi-purpose room, which was to serve the growing congregation into the 1990s. A bequest received in the early 1990s enabled the congregation to built a larger and finer building with a new sanctuary and office rooms, converting the former sanctuary into a social hall, and the multi-purpose room into classrooms. Current internet photos of the church (2023) show a plethora of exposed pipes: an unenclosed division functionally exposed with copper basses to the right of the altar area, with copper Principal basses displayed on either side of a central cross behind the altar area with other pipework hidden from view behind. The church website does not identify the maker of the present organ, so it is unclear if any of the 1960s 3-rank Delaware instrument was recycled, sold to another congregation, or discarded. The Delaware catalog page for this instrument shows a staged portrait of the organ against a white background, with a console and self-contained organ box in "colonial" decor, i.e. white painted wood work with dark wood trim. Whether the prepared Cymbel 2 ranks was ever installed is unknown. -Scot Huntington
