2023-01-26 - In 1928 the College of Religion moved to the 250-acre Fairview campus and was located in part of Jordan Hall, a building shared with the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music. At this time enrollment numbered 142. In 1933 Geo. Kilgen & Son of Saint Louis, Missouri, installed its opus 5182, a three-manual instrument, in Jordan Hall. The console was of drawknob control, rare for Kilgen at this period. Donald C. Gilley, head of the organ program, played the dedicatory recital on March 5, sponsored by the Indiana Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The all-Bach program included Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor; Four Chorale Preludes from "Orgelbiichlein"; and Toccata in F major. The Jordan Conservatory choir, under the direction of R.B. Fitzgerald, sang the cantata "Christ Lay in Death's Dark Prison." -- *2007 OHS Atlas* -Paul R. Marchesano
