Notes

2023-01-30 - In 1922 an anonymous donor provided funds for rebuilding the organ. This work was carried out by Mielke, who changed the pitch from concert to international, added a set of Chimes, a Vox Humana, and an Aeoline, and provided a new generator. Charles F. Hansen of the Second Presbyterian Church played the rededication recital on October 12: Grand March ("Aida"), Verdi-Shelley; Largo ("New World" Symphony) , Dvorak; Rhapsody on "A Breton Melody," SaintSaens; Allegretto in B minor, Guilmant; Gavotte ("Mignon"), Thomas; Fantasie, "The Storm," Lemmens; Improvisation on a Familiar Hymn Tune; Overture ("Martha"), Flotow. The following year the same donor paid for moving the console when the pulpit platform of the church was renovated for the congregation's centennial. -- *2007 OHS Atlas* -Paul R. Marchesano
