Notes

2023-08-12 - From The Clinton New Era (April 28, 1893): "Word has been received from Messrs. R. S. Williams & Son, the builders of the pipe organ for the Rattenbury Street Methodist Church, that they are waiting on the arrival of the French pipes to complete the organ. The pipes were shipped on the 18th inst., and are expected to be in Oshawa next week, so that the organ will likely be placed in the church by the 1st of June." The organ was likely moved to the church's new building by an unknown builder circa 1902, and was "overhauled" by Mr. Matthews of Toronto in 1909. The church became a part of the United Church of Canada, but the organ was presumed lost when the church burned in 1928. -Andrew Henderson
