2023-09-11 - From *The Leader-Post* (Regina, SK, May 8, 1931): "For the first time Sunday, the new pipe organ at the German Lutheran Church, corner of Quebec Street and Victoria Avenue, will be used for the services. This is an organ that was purchased from St. Andrew's congregation in Winnipeg [see below], dismantled and brought here to be rebuilt to fit the church choir loft. Louis Atkin, former Metropolitan Theatre organist for seven years, undertook the work and, with the assistance of one carpenter, has succeeded in rebuilding the instrument, accomplishing this feat for the first time in Saskatchewan. Practically all of the organ, except the pipes, had to be rebuilt and the result is a success that has pleased members of the congregation. There are eight sets of pipes, with pedal organ and manual enclosed. It has seven-foot frontage, is nine feet deep and 16 1/2 feet high. The stops on the organ are open diapason, eight feet; melodia, eight feet; gamba, eight feet; flute, eight feet; carabella [sic], four feet; sub base, 16 feet and pedal bourdon 16 feet. The instrument is blown by a one-horse power electric blower." [It is possible that the organ originated from St. George's Church in Winnipeg, which had a 1-manual S. R. Warren & Son organ, installed in 1893 and removed at an unknown date.] -Andrew Henderson
