2024-02-26 - Information from Joseph A Muise, Jr: The organ had four ranks. It was unified and connected to a three manual Steere console, and installed in our house at 211 South Street, Waltham, MA. In 1956 my father designed a house around the organ and had it built next door, at 217 South Street. That house was torn down a few years ago. The first floor had a front to back living room on the right. The console was in the right rear of the room, a grand piano in the front right. The chest and pipes were under the center stairs, with vertical swell shades opening into the living room. A recorder board was in the basement, with all the necessary gang switches etc. My mother, father and I all played the organ for many years. In 1969 my parents retired to Florida. Eventually the organ was sold to a minister from Connecticut, who had a retreat house somewhere in Maine, where he intended to install it. The details have been lost. It is unlikely that it was ever properly reassembled. I was there when the organ was removed. Despite my father's detailed instructions, the "organ men" the minister brought with him decided to simply snip the wires under the chest. None of the cables were labeled so they could be resoldered. It was heartbreaking. -Paul R. Marchesano
