Notes

2024-09-10 - This entry represents the installation of a new organ. Identified from the church website ('Our History' page), which states, "In 1889, 25 years after the formation of the first choir, the first organ was installed but proved unsatisfactory." This organ was replaced a scant 3 years later with a new S. R. Warren and Sons instrument. Disposition of the 1889 organ is unknown. -Jim Stettner

2024-09-10 - From the published parish history : "At the close of 1888 and the beginning of 1889 the question of introducing an organ, was discussed by the Managers and also by the Session. Time was taken to look at the question on every side, so that there might be no undue haste, and no element of discord brought in. The Session passed this motion anent the matter: 'That the Session is not averse to the introduction of an organ to improve the psalmody of the church, if the congregation approve of it.' " The organ cost $2,400.00. -Jim Stettner
