2024-11-18 - From The Daily Telegraph (Saint John, NB, March 30, 1912): "Tomorrow morning the new pipe organ built by Henry Jones & Son, of Fulham Road, London, England, for St. George's Church, will be used for the first time. The instrument has been tested and pronounced by proficient men to be first class in everything. It is of tubular pneumatic action, voiced after the English method. The pedals are radiating and concave. The sound boards are of Honduras mahogany. The keys are of ivory and ebony. The pipes of the great organ open diapason are finished in silver and form a speaking front. The mechanical and cabinet work are all that can be desired. St. George Church has no need to be ashamed of the organ, which is now ready for use. It was erected and toned by Joseph Whitely, of Rothesay, who had no difficulty in putting the various parts together, so well and correctly were they all marked and fitted. The total cost is $2,200, the whole of which was paid by the congregation without any outside help or teas, socials, entertainments or candy frolics of any kind." -Andrew Henderson
