Notes

2024-12-22 - This entry represents the installation of a new organ. Identified through online information from Andrew Henderson (December 21, 2024): From The Buffalo Daily Republic (October 26, 1867): "This instrument, the last work of Mr. F. Barkhoff, is one of the most effective and complete organs now existing in the United States, and contains many more and beautiful stops, and new mechanical appliances. There are three manuals, and one free pedal. The action is brought out and reversed, so that the organist, when playing, is facing the altar. The organ occupies a space upwards of 30 feet, by 32 feet in width, with a total depth of 10 feet. The case was built by Mr. Vincent Schwartz, of Buffalo, from designs by P. C. Keeley, Esq., the architect of the church." -Andrew Henderson

2024-12-24 - The church was destroyed by fire from a lightening strike in 1962. Only the walls remained, and were retained to rebuild the church. -Jim Stettner
