Notes

2025-03-22 - From the "Daily Sentinel" (Rome, NY, January 18, 1893): "The work of taking down the old organ in Zion Church, to make room for the new one which is expected next week, has been going on since Monday, under the direction of Mr. Knollen [sic, Knollin], the organ builder of Syracuse. It is pleasing to many that the instrument to which they have listened for years, and which has done good service in its day, and is now by no means a worn out affair, is still to remain in the city. With commendable liberality the vestry of Zion Church has given the organ to Bishop Huntington for the use of St. Joseph's Church, Ridge Street. It has seventeen stops, 569 pipes, and with the repairs which the removal gives opportunity for, will add much to the services in St. Joseph's Church. It has always been known as a sweet toned instrument." -Andrew Henderson
