2021-08-23 - According to the entry for this organ in the book Johnson Organs: 1844-1898, the organ was originally built for the Masonic Temple in Hartford, CT. When it sold in 1982, the organ was relocated [reportedly through the Organ Clearing House] to First Lutheran Church in Rockville, CT. It was installed by church volunteers under the direction of Thad H.H. Outerbridge of Beverely, MA. -Jim Stettner

When that facility closed and was sold in 1982, First Lutheran Church bought the organ on March 15, 1982. It was installed by parishioners under the guidance of Thad H.H. Outerbridge of Beverly, MA., and first heard for the first time on Palm Sunday – April 4, 1982. The organ is free-standing and encased with a 7-sectional facade containing 55 stenciled pipes arranged: 6-6-4-23-4-6-6 with the outer two 6's being flats at the side of the case, and the next two 6's being round towers. The keydesk is attached and projecting with a lid that lifts to form a music rack. Stops are as drawknobs in terraced jambs. The congregation is merging with another congregation and both the church and the organ are for sale.
