OHS convention: 1986
2021-10-11 - From *1986 OHS Handbook:* The organ is a stock-model instrument, in excellent condition, and shows that a well-maintained tracker organ of simple design can serve a small parish for many years at minimum expense. Not long after the organ was built, Lyon & Healy apparently asked the pastor for a testimonial. In due course, he provided one, which the builders were pleased to publish, in its entirety, in a 1903 *Portfolio of Lyon & Healy Pipe Organs: * *6 March 1902 Lyon & Healy, Chicago, Ill. Gentlemen: Everything is satisfactory. Yours respectfully, (Signed) Rev. Paul Halbmeier * Surely it would please that garrulous pastor (and of course the builders) to know that 84 years later, nothing more need be said. -Paul R. Marchesano
