2014-12-05 - Updated through online information from John McCraney. -- The "case" is actually three sides of paneling with a pipe fence on all three sides. The enclosed Swell is directly behind the unenclosed Great. The Pedal Bourdon is divided on each side of the enclosure.
The organ actually has favorable placement behind the choir loft because of its elevation. I believe the spacious, high-ceilinged room has little or no carpeting, and the building itself if late 19th or early 20th century masonry in a modified cruciform shape. The organ "sings out" quite well into the church, and Bach chorale preludes come across quite well even if the registration is not authentic.
The restoration of the organ is a true restoration, retaining the original Hillgreen-Lane ventil chests with the wire pulls for each note going through each wall and activating the valves. -Database Manager
