Notes

2007-08-16 - Identified through on-line information from Douglas W. Craw. -- This organ was the Wangerin Organ Company's "Magnum Opus" and was highly regarded at the time in the Los Angeles music community. The organ cantained a 5 rank floating string division which was available on all 4 manuals. The specification was planned by Richard Key Biggs. Austin Organs, Inc. rebuilt the instrument in 1989 reusing 37 of the 54 Wangerin ranks. The 1994 Northridge earthquake caused extensive damage to the catherdral and subsequently a new cathedral (Our Lady of the Angels) was constructed. Some of the Wangerin and Austin ranks were reused in the Dobson organ at the new cathedral. -Database Manager
