Notes

2009-06-02 - Rebuild of existing Aeolian-Skinner organ, itself a significant rebuild of E. M. Skinner Opus 150 (1906). -Database Manager

2010-12-24 - Updated through on-line information from Connor Annable. -Database Manager

2012-07-06 - Updated through online information from Sam Cherubin. -- The 8' Tuba Major (Solo) and 4' Tuba Clarion are at 25" WP and are unenclosed, and are directly behind the facade pipes in the Great Choir. -Database Manager

2017-02-03 - Updated by Sam Cherubin, listing this web site as a source of information: http://www.osiris.nobachaloud.com/aeolian-skinner.st-john-divine.new-york.ny.us.1954.txt.

The Great "Grande Fourniture" was listed on the contract as being V-VIII ranks, it actually has IV-VI ranks. -Database Manager

2019-05-24 - Updated by Sam Cherubin, who has heard or played the organ. State Trumpet was re-installed in April 2019 after six-years of silence because of survey work and stabilization of the west end wall following the August 2011 earthquake.
Bottom 12 notes of 32\' Contre Ophicleide are silenced due to instability of the pipework, it is unknown if they will ever speak again. -Database Manager

2020-11-11 - After the 2019 Palm Sunday crypt fire, the Great Organ is "unplayable" due to the unknown amount of soot and smoke damage done to the pipe work above the Great Choir. As of 2020, the organ is expected to be fully cleaned and restored, once again, pending insurance claims and ability to secure funding to restore the organ. Estimated time back online is within a few years. -Sam Cherubin
