2015-07-18 - This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ. Identified by James R. Stettner, using information from this web site: http://www.pstos.org/instruments/wa/seattle/olympic-woodland.htm. -- The organ was in the theatre from 1925 to 1931. In 1931 it was moved to Seattle's Trianon Ballroom. In 1946, Balcom and Vaughan of Seattle moved the organ to the Maple Leaf Tavern in Renton, Washington - for which installation it was enlarged to 3-manuals with additions. In April 1957, the organ was purchased by Howard Burr of the Wallingford/Greenlake neighborhood in Seattle and installed in basement chambers by Balcom and Vaughan for $2,060.00. The home was later owned by Brad Detering. In 1997, the organ was purchased by the Everett Theatre Society and was installed there largely through volunteer labor efforts. -Database Manager
