Notes

2007-05-30 - Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- Organ built through the efforts of parishioner Terry Shipley who was apprenticed with Mr. Lunsford. Used, three year old Schantz console. Used pipes. Cost $11,000.00. Dedicated by Richard Sidey. -Database Manager

2010-06-22 - Updated through online information from Randall C. Maynard. -- Visited this church/organ in the last week (June 14, 2010) and found that the organ is still in the church building but is not currently in regular use week to week. Organ is not regularly maintained and the church does not have an organist. Organ still plays for the most part but there are several dead notes in the organ and tuning is way off due to several years of little or no maintenance. Church averages around 80-100 persons in attendance each week. No plans at the moment for the organ to be restored and/or expanded. -Database Manager

NOTES
This organ was built through the efforts of Terry Shipley, a member of the church, who
was working with Mr. Lunsford as an apprentice at the time. Mr. Lunsford was able to
procure a used, 3 year old Schantz console, and with used pipework – the church was able
to have this instrument for approximately $11,000.00.

The dedicatory recital was played by Mr. Richard Sidey, organist of St. John's Episcopal
Church of Knoxville, TN.
